Documentary Field Producer / Storyteller Roseville Advocated For the Homeless Roseville, CA Job Details Temporary | Part-time | Full-time | Internship | Freelance $20 - $35 an hour 5 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Some college Journalism Sociology Journalism Communications Social Work Full Job Description Roseville Advocates for the Homeless (RAFT) is seeking a Storyteller / Field Producer to help produce a documentary examining the impact of homelessness on families in Placer County. RAFT estimates that approximately 750 families in Placer County are affected by homelessness . We want to help tell their stories and bring greater public awareness to an issue that often remains unseen. We already have a talented videographer on board. We are now looking for someone who is curious, compassionate, resourceful, and a strong communicator to help find and interview people whose experiences can help tell this story. What You'll Do Help identify families and individuals willing to share their experiences Conduct and help coordinate interviews Speak with parents, students, school administrators, teachers, government administrators, and others connected to the issue Ask thoughtful questions and help interviewees tell their stories naturally Work with our videographer and RAFT team to help shape the documentary's story Assist with field production and research as needed Who We're Looking For This could be an excellent opportunity for a college student or recent graduate interested in: Journalism Film and video production Communications Documentary filmmaking Sociology or social work Public policy Community advocacy Professional documentary experience is not necessarily what matters most. We are looking for someone who can talk to people, listen carefully, earn trust, ask good questions, and recognize a compelling story. The finished documentary is expected to be approximately 30 minutes or less . RAFT previously produced the documentary "Until You Have Experienced It," which explored the experiences of homeless individuals in Placer County. This new project will focus specifically on the impact of homelessness on families. Interested in the project?
