$2000 Arlington Children's Theatre Founded in 1991, Arlington Children's Theatre (ACT) uses theatre as a vehicle for youth development, empowering young people to grow as artists, leaders, collaborators, and engagedmunity members. Through mentorship, collaboration, and performance, ACT creates a supportive environment w students develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong skills while producing high-quality theatrical experiences. the Production Inspired by the true story of the 1899 Newsboys' Strike, Disney's Newsies Jr. is a high-energy musical filled with unettable songs, dynamic choreography, and a powerful message about the strength of young people working together to create change. When newspaper publisher Joseph Pulitzer raises prices at the expense of New York City's newsboys, a group of determined young workers bands together to fight back. Led by the charismatic Jack Kelly, the newsies discover that their voices matter and that even the most powerful institutions can be challenged when people stand together. Featuring beloved songs such as Carrying the Banner, King of New York, and Seize the Day, this exciting musical celebrates courage, leadership, perseverance, and the power ofmunity. At ACT, Newsies Jr. is more than a musical—it is an opportunity for young performers to explore what it means to advocate for themselves, support one another, and recognize the impact that ordinary people can have when they work toward amon goal.

Qualifications:
Position Summary ACT is seeking a collaborative,anized, and supportive Stage Manager to join the production team for Newsies Jr. The Stage Manager serves as theanizational backbone of the rehearsal process, working closely with the Director, Production Manager, Executive Artistic Director, and creative team to ensure rehearsals and performances run smoothly. This individual will help create a positive, structured rehearsal environment w young performers can thrive while maintaining clearmunication and detailed production records throughout the rehearsal and performance process. Primary Responsibilities Maintain the official prompt book throughout rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and performances. Record blocking, cues, scene shifts, and production notes. Call technical and performance cues during dress rehearsals and performances. Coordinate rehearsal logistics, attendance, rehearsal reports, performance reports, and productionmunication. Maintain contact lists andmunication records throughout the production. Attend all production meetings. Work collaboratively with the Director, Production Manager, Technical Director, and creative team throughout the rehearsal process. Assist in maintaining a positive,anized, and weing rehearsal environment for students. Attend all technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and performances. Ad to all responsibilities associated with the Stage Manager role as outlined in the ACT Production Handbook (2026-2027 Edition). Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess many of the following qualifications: Previous experience as a Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, Production Assistant, or similar production leadership role. Stronganizational andmunication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced rehearsal environment. Familiarity with theatrical prompt books, rehearsal reports, and cue calling. Experience working collaboratively within a creative team. Experience working with children or educational theatre programs is strongly preferred. Ability to remain calm,anized, and solution-oriented during rehearsals and performances. A passion for educational theatre and youth development.
