Job Description
Do you believe stories have the power to change hearts—and lives? Every day at Anchor Point, women and families walk through our doors looking for hope, support, and a path forward. Behind every program, appointment, class, and community event is a story worth telling. We are looking for a compassionate and creative Client/Programs Social Media Support & Roving Reporter to help us capture those moments and share the heart of Anchor Point with our community. This is more than a social media position. You will help give a voice to the women and families we serve, celebrate lives being transformed, and connect people in our community with services that can make a lasting difference. One day you may be creating a video about a client's journey, and the next you may be at a community event taking photos, building relationships, and helping someone discover that they are not alone. What You'll Do Manage Anchor Point's social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok, as appropriate. Create and schedule engaging content on a consistent weekly basis. Develop graphics, videos, photographs, and written content highlighting client stories, program impact, and Anchor Point's mission. Attend programs and events as a "roving reporter," capturing photos, videos, interviews, and real-time social media content. Monitor social media engagement, respond to inquiries promptly, and help build an active online community. Track digital analytics and adjust content strategies to increase reach and engagement. Maintain website and blog content in coordination with outside vendors. Support digital marketing and client recruitment efforts for the Thriving Texas Families program. Represent Anchor Point at approximately three to five community events, health fairs, or networking opportunities each month. Create and distribute marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, door hangers, and banners. Identify and cultivate community partnerships that support client recruitment and service delivery. Assist with fundraising events, including the annual gala, 5K, and donor cultivation events. Support event promotion, logistics, and volunteer coordination. Write donor newsletters, impact stories, program updates, case studies, and other marketing materials. Collect client testimonials while following all privacy, confidentiality, and permission requirements. Support grant-writing efforts by gathering program data and success stories. Collaborate with Client Advocates, the Education Trainer, and other team members to increase community awareness. Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For A sincere desire to serve abortion-vulnerable and abortion-minded women and families experiencing crisis. Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit management, or a related field—or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Two to three years of experience in social media management, marketing, communications, or a related role. Demonstrated success growing social media reach and engagement. Strong writing, storytelling, relationship-building, and project-management skills. Experience with nonprofit, healthcare, or social-service organizations is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are strongly preferred. Proficiency with social media platforms and management tools, such as Meta Business Suite. Graphic-design experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools. Photography and basic video-editing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with WordPress or another website content-management system. Ability to track basic marketing data and analytics. Creativity, cultural awareness, sound judgment, and sensitivity when communicating with diverse audiences. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of Galveston County and its community resources is preferred. Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and protect client privacy. Why Join Anchor Point? Your work here will be about much more than posts, graphics, and analytics. You will help tell the story of a mother who found hope when she felt afraid, a family that received support during a difficult season, and a community that came together to remind someone that they were seen, valued, and loved. If you are a creative storyteller who wants to use your talents for work that matters, we would love to meet you.
