LifeByMikeG is looking for a talented Part-Time Assistant Video Editor to join our in-house creative team. LifeByMikeG is a leading food and lifestyle media brand with a community of more than 5 million subscribers on YouTube and 700,000+ followers on Instagram . Our team produces high-quality, story-driven content for millions of viewers across YouTube and social media every month. As the channel and brand continue to expand, we're looking for another talented editor to work alongside our Head Editor and the rest of our creative team. This is a part-time, on-site position at the LifeByMikeG studio with the potential to grow and evolve over time for the right person. The Role The immediate priority for this position will be helping us create short-form content for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and other social platforms. However, this is an assistant editor position, and responsibilities will extend beyond short-form editing based on the needs of the team.

Responsibilities may include:

Editing short-form vertical content from existing and original footage Cutting and organizing B-roll Preparing footage and projects for our Head Editor Organizing footage, project files, and media libraries Uploading and managing content across platforms Creating selects and pulling clips from long-form videos Assisting with other post-production and content management tasks Supporting the creative team wherever needed As you become more familiar with our content, workflow, and team, there will be opportunities to take on greater creative responsibility. Who We're Looking For We're looking for an experienced editor with strong technical skills, excellent creative instincts, and a genuine passion for editing and storytelling. You should be highly proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and comfortable working within an established professional editing workflow. We're looking for someone who understands pacing, music, sound, comedic timing, and how editing choices can make content more engaging. Just as importantly, we're looking for someone who is:

Experienced:

You have at least 4 years of professional or equivalent video editing experience Technically strong: You are highly proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro Passionate about editing: You genuinely enjoy the craft and actively want to become a better editor Eager to learn: You take feedback well, ask good questions, and are constantly looking to improve

Detail-oriented:

You care about organization, file management, and the small details that make a professional workflow run smoothly

Reliable:

You follow through, communicate clearly, and can be counted on by the rest of the team

Collaborative:

You work well with others and are comfortable contributing within a close-knit creative environment

Flexible:

You're willing to jump between creative editing and assistant-editor responsibilities depending on what the team needs Team fit is extremely important to us. Requirements Minimum 4 years of video editing experience Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro Strong portfolio or examples of previous editing work Experience with short-form and social-first video content Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling, music, and sound Excellent organizational and file-management skills Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines Must be able to work on-site at the LifeByMikeG studio Must live within approximately a 20-minute commute of the studio Experience with After Effects, motion graphics, color correction, audio, or other areas of post-production is a plus.
