We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who want to teach others how to ski and snowboard. As an Adult Group Lesson Instructor , your primary role will be introducing people to the sport for their first time . You will also guide guests' progress from beginner to intermediate and beyond. You may be required to teach Children's Lessons (Group and Private) as business requires. Prior instructing experience is valued and a passion for working with people is required.
Daily Responsibilities:
Check schedule from a computer or smartphone.
Attend the Morning Meeting with your supervisors and fellow instructors.
Greet guests and assign to levels; ensure their equipment is properly adjusted.
Work with other instructors to assess guests and their movements; split classes based on abilities/goals/guest requests.
Utilize ProCard; Ski School Software, to make class lists and pro-verified levels.
Strong focus on safety, both physical and emotional.
Introduce the lesson and develop rapport with the group.
Determine guests' goals and develop a plan.
Guide practice and check for understanding.
Strive to exceed guest expectations and create lasting memories.
Have fun!
Debrief the learning experience and preview the next steps. Encourage guests to return and continue their learning.
Work in physically demanding environment where inclement weather may exist.
Apply reasoning skills when confronted with varying situations including but not limited to guest injury/illness, group dynamics, terrain options etc.
Sign out on ProCard to confirm student count and pay.
Qualifications:
Excited to work with adults and a willingness to work with 3
14 year olds as well.
Must be authorized to work in the USA. We are not sponsoring work visas at this time.
Must be able to ski/ride safely on Blue Terrain, at a minimum.
Strong communication skills; in-person, telephone, and text/email.
Works well with others; guests, instructors, supervisors, other resort employees.
Ability to handle face paced environment; multi-task.
PSIA/AASI
Certification is preferred.
Must be able to work full time over the busy holiday weeks/weekends; 19 required days throughout the season.
Previous experience teaching, coaching, mentoring, or training individuals in a professional, educational, or recreational setting.
High school diploma preferred.
