Endorsements:
Michigan Teacher Certification 6-12 endorsement required in one of the following combinations: CX, RX and CE, CA, CB/CC, CD and CE
Salary:
$28.00 per hour or per WWEA agreement for members
Schedule:
5 Hours per week total
Thursdays
5:30 PM - 10:00 PM includes 1/2 hour prep
Summary:
Provide classroom facilitation and student instruction in self-paced learning center Adult Education classroom at both Adult Basic Education and High School Completion/Equivalency levels in the following courses: Civics/Government, Economics, Native American History, Psychology, Sociology, Street Law, US History & Geography, and World History
Work with adults and at-risk students in a cooperative learning environment
Participate with other instructors in curriculum development within Michigan content standards guidelines and College and Career Readiness standards
Effectively manage classroom with regards to student participation, behavior, NRS assessment testing, and record-keeping responsibilities
Monitor attendance and assist in compiling student data for periodic grant accountability reports
Qualifications:
Valid Michigan teaching certificate required, appropriate 6-12 endorsement required
CX, or
RX and CE, or
CA, CB/CC, CD, and CE
Successful teaching experience with adult and/or alternative student population
Additionally:
Personal commitment to goals of modern Adult and Community Education and high school completion programs, including credit recovery
Demonstrate ability to integrate current technology into classroom experience
Demonstrate ability to design and/or modify curriculum to best meet instructional needs of Adult Education population within Michigan content standards
Working knowledge of accountability practices for grant reporting
Subject to professional development requirements
Regular, reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
