Employ a hands-on approach to teaching that builds students' reading competencies, including word recognition, vocabulary development, comprehension, critical reading skills, and writing skills, including five-paragraph essays. Administer and analyze pre- and post-assessments to determine students' proficiency foundation and progress indicators as required. Comply with all safety, fire, and smoking regulations. Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training as scheduled by Human Resources. Perform all other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree, preferably in Elementary Education or English. Minimum of 3 years teaching Adult Basic Skills or post-secondary education. Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching older youth and adults ages 16-27. Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching in an urban setting. Demonstrated ability to provide instruction in English Language Arts. Strong computer skills for instruction and academic assessment.
