We provide educational programs, workforce development, youth and senior services, and essential supports that promote dignity, opportunity, and belonging for all. We are seeking a dedicated ESL Instructor to support adult learners in improving their English skills for daily life, employment, and community engagement. Position Summary The ESL Instructor will teach adult learners in a supportive, culturally diverse environment. The ideal candidate is patient, creative, and experienced in adult education. The instructor will design and deliver engaging lessons focused on reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills that help students build confidence and achieve their personal and professional goals. Responsibilities
Teach 4 hours per week of ESL classes for adult learners at the DaVinci Center
Develop lesson plans that support beginner to intermediate English proficiency
Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
Maintain attendance records and provide updates to program staff
Create a welcoming, respectful, and supportive classroom environment
Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth program operations
Provide feedback and recommendations to strengthen the ESL program Qualifications
Experience teaching
ESL/ESOL
to adults required
Bachelor's degree in Education, TESOL, Linguistics, or related field preferred
TESOL, TEFL, or ESL certification strongly preferred
Strong communication, cultural competency, and patience working with diverse learners
Ability to develop interactive, student-centered lessons
