Job Description

SCOPE OF WORK
The Records Technician works under the direction of the Archives & Records Director within the Information Records Research Department. This position is responsible for assisting with the organization, preservation, inventory, digitization, maintenance, retrieval, and proper disposition of tribal records. The Records Technician supports the day-to-day operations of the records repository and assist tribal programs, departments, leadership, and enrolled members with records requests and archival research.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize, classify, inventory, label, and maintain physical and digital tribal records to ensure accurate storage, preservation, and accessibility. Scan, upload, verify, and manage records within the department's digital database and records management system while maintaining data accuracy. Retrieve and research Tribal Council Minutes, Resolutions, land management records, and other archival documents to support tribal departments, leadership, and approved public requests. Process records transfers, prepare records for storage or destruction according to retention schedules, and assist with archival preservation and digitization projects. Safeguard confidential and sensitive records by ensuring compliance with tribal policies, records management standards, and applicable laws. Assist with daily department operations by answering calls and emails, maintaining inventories and reports, operating office equipment, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting special projects and training initiatives.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED preferred but not required.
