DEFINITION

Provide instruction to college students through lectures, demonstrations, studio exercises, laboratory activities, and other instructional methods appropriate to the discipline. Teach and support Fine Arts courses offered by Cape Fear Community College, including but not limited to studio art, design, digital arts, photography, art appreciation, art history, and other visual arts disciplines. Foster student learning through a comprehensive understanding of Fine Arts principles, practices, techniques, and contemporary developments while supporting the mission and goals of the Visual Arts program.

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Essential Functions:

Provide classroom and/or online instruction to students.

These modalities include:

o Face to Face Traditional o Hybrid o Blended o HyFlex ? Instructional modalities are assigned by the college in alignment with student demand and program needs. Provide classroom and laboratory instruction to students Prepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activities Develop and prepare supplement materials to enhance textbook lessons Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance; grade record individual scores Provide classroom demonstrations on various equipment and machinery; develop laboratory assignments to provide hands-on experience as appropriate Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance Maintain and submit all required paperwork in a neat, accurate, and timely fashion, including but not limited to: Class rosters, registration forms, pay sheets, attendance forms, and grade rosters Stay abreast of new developments and changes in the academic field, including awareness of the NCCCS student success rate average(s). Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures related to the required teaching area and in accordance with CFCC policies and guidelines Serve classroom assigned on any of CFCC's campus locations: Downtown, North campus, Burgaw campus, Surf City Campus, or other satellite campus locations. Keep studio spaces clean and safe Recruit students for the AFA Visual Art program

Other Important Functions:

Assess the relevancy and impact of various lessons and recommend improvements as needed Oversee and participate in field studies and assignments; travel with students to provide assistance and instruction as appropriate Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned This is a 30-hour per week

QUALIFICATIONS

Timely grade and attendance reporting. Maintain Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance. Must complete the college mentorship program in year one. Classroom and online instructional techniques and procedures for all modalities. No disciplinary actions on file Principles and procedures of academic and instructional program development and administration in the Visual Arts program Principles and techniques involved in development and administration of appropriate assessments in the Visual Arts Program Current trends in the Visual Arts Program Workplace Safety Principles and procedures of academic record keeping Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations.

Courses primarily taught are:

All Fine Arts courses offered within the Visual Arts curriculum, as assigned by the college based on program needs, faculty qualifications, and student demand.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES

Minimum Education/Training:

A Master's degree in Fine Art or a Master's degree and at least 18 graduate semester hours in Fine Art courses from a regionally accredited college or university.

Minimum Experience :
