Role and Compensation:

The position focuses on leading visual arts programming for K-8 students in the Expanded Learning initiative. It requires a minimum of 30 hours per week, pays between $23.00 and $25.00 per hour based on experience, and includes a benefits package with medical, dental, vision, PTO, and retirement options.

Schedule:

During the academic year, the standard working hours are 12:00 PM to 6:30 PM. During the summer session, the schedule shifts to a 40-hour work week from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. All operations observe a mandatory four-week closure during the month of July.

Responsibilities:

The instructor is expected to design and lead lessons in drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media that align with California Quality Standards and Arts Standards. The role also involves supporting Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom, collaborating with campus leadership, and managing daily attendance and compliance records for

ASES/ELOP

funding.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have either 48 college units, an Associate's degree or higher, or pass a local instructional aide exam, with a degree in Fine Arts or Art Education highly preferred. The position also requires previous experience working with K-8 youth, a cleared DOJ/FBI background check, and a negative TB test.
