ART & ENGINEERING

after school classes for 1st-6th grade students. We are looking for instructors in these fields who enjoy working with children and can teach students 1st-6th grade.:

Visual Arts:

drawing, painting, sculpture, collage Engineering/Robotics with Lego bricks, VEX, or similar materials & programs

Coding/Gaming:

Scratch or other block based coding, Java, JavaScript, Python or digital games likeMinecraft, The right candidate will teach our afterschool enrichment classes that are fun for students to learn and grow. We will train in our Art, Engineering or Coding based curriculum and methodology. We provide all curriculum and materials to teach.

REQUIRES

car, cell phone, computer, and lives in SB, Goleta, or Montecito. Classes start : last week of August/first week of September. Candidates are required to start teaching at that time.

Applicant must have:

min of 1 year experience teaching groups of students in: classrooms, similar afterschool programs, afterschool or child care environments. min of 1 year college in a relevant field. have good time management skills, be timely, and have positive energetic attitude ability to be organized, articulate, and professional

Responsibilities:

Engage and teach children in after school enrichment classes. Communicate with parents about the class. Teach EITHER art classes or engineering/robotics/coding classes. Provide a positive, caring and well managed classroom. Drive to school location with all necessary materials for class. Pay is $70.00 per class (2hr class) with a max of 2 classes per day between 1:30-5pm, M-F. Additional pay for on-going instructor training and meetings is $20 p/hr. The prospective candidate must be available to teach a minimum of 2 afternoons per week . Classes are held at various school locations. As a portable program, instructor stores and transports all supplies and materials with them to the school location where they teach.

$20.00 - $35.00 per hour Application Question(s): If applying for Art position, describe your ART experience. If applying for Robotics/Engineering position, describe your experience with coding, robotics or digital games, like Minecraft. Explain your teaching experience either in a 1st-6th grade classroom, or afterschool or child care environment. Are you able to start teaching classes the week of August 31-Sept 4? How many afternoons are you available to teach afterschool classes between the hours of 1:30-5:00 pm? Which days?
