JOB SUMMARY

The General Education Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality educational program to meet students' academic and social-emotional needs. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the district. .

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Deliver daily lessons, aligned to state and district standards that meet students' individual needs and ensure growth. Create an engaging, affirming, and meaningful classroom environment that meets the academic and social emotional needs of students. Participate in building and district professional learning communities to plan for instruction, analyze data, and create assessments. Monitor student learning on a daily basis. Use multiple data points to guide and individualize instruction. Communicate with families on a regular basis. Participate in professional development. Demonstrate consistent progress on meeting the eight Iowa Teaching Standards. Other duties, as assigned.
