Long Term Substitute Art Teacher at Abington Middle School (8.31.26 - 11.23.26) Abington Public Schools - 4.1 Abington, MA Job Details Full-time 15 hours ago Qualifications Teacher collaboration Parent communication in school administration Specialization in creative arts instruction Full Job Description Abington Middle School is looking for a dynamic Long-Term Substitute (LTS) Art Teacher who values equity and social emotional learning and provides access to engaging learning experiences for all students. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated success in building and sustaining strong relationships with students and families, and value ongoing collaboration with colleagues. A solid understanding of the MA Arts Framework is required. Experience implementing strategies to support Multilingual Learners is preferred. This LTS position is scheduled for 8/31/26 to on or about 11/23/26.
Qualified candidates will:
Be creative and innovative with an educational philosophy that all students can demonstrate artistic skills and habits of mindHave strengths in arts integration and visual thinking skills, and possess knowledge of various movements, media, styles, and world cultures artDemonstrate an unwavering commitment to educational equity and instructional excellenceProvide a safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment for all learnersCreate lesson plans, aligned with current state and district standards, which drive instruction through formative assessment and differentiationEngage in reflective practice in concert with supervisor and team aligned to the instructional focus of the schoolIncorporate strategies that support Multilingual Learners into every learning activityCommunicate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators
