Hammar's Studios is looking for a FUN, energetic, talented Acrylic Art Instructor who loves creating art and, just as importantly, loves sharing that creativity with others! This is a highly interactive teaching position for someone who can bring energy, personality, encouragement, and strong artistic instruction into every class and event they lead. Our Acrylic Art Instructor will lead weekly art classes, step-by-step acrylic painting programs, birthday parties, camps, workshops, paint nights, private events, and other creative experiences for children, teens, adults, and families. We're looking for more than someone who can paint. The ideal instructor knows how to connect with students, make classes FUN, build confidence, create a sense of belonging, and leave students excited to come back for their next class. Art Instruction & Creative Programming Lead engaging weekly art classes, workshops, camps, birthday parties, paint nights, private events, and creative programs Confidently teach step-by-step acrylic painting to children, teens, adults, and families Demonstrate painting techniques in a clear, approachable, and engaging way Adapt instruction for different ages, abilities, personalities, and experience levels Create original acrylic painting samples and instructional projects for Studio programming Help students develop artistic skills while encouraging creativity and individual expression Maintain appropriate pacing and classroom management while keeping programs upbeat and fun Assist with developing new projects, classes, camps, and seasonal creative experiences Lead occasional off-site programs and events within the local community Create an Experience Students Want to Return To Our instructors play an important role in building long-term relationships with Studio students and families. Get to know students and create a welcoming environment where they feel recognized and valued Bring enthusiasm, personality, and positive energy to every class Encourage students while providing meaningful artistic instruction and feedback Build relationships with parents and families and communicate student accomplishments and progress Help students identify their next class, workshop, camp, or artistic opportunity Actively encourage re-enrollment and continued participation Promote upcoming Studio programs that are appropriate for each student's interests Help turn first-time participants into long-term Hammar's Studios students Birthday Parties, Events & Camps Serve as an energetic host and instructor for children's birthday parties, private events, camps, and group programs Confidently lead groups of varying sizes Keep participants engaged, entertained, and on schedule Create a fun and celebratory atmosphere while maintaining control of the program Communicate professionally and enthusiastically with parents, party hosts, and guests Prepare materials and assist with event setup and breakdown Direct and support Studio Assistants during larger programs and events when needed Customer Experience & Enrollment Greet Studio guests and create a warm, upbeat, and professional experience Assist customers with program questions, registrations, reservations, and purchases Confidently discuss and recommend Studio programs Support Studio enrollment and sales goals through authentic customer relationships Follow up with students or families regarding re-enrollment when needed Help promote classes, camps, workshops, parties, and special events Provide excellent customer service to children, parents, adult students, and Studio guests Studio Responsibilities Prepare classrooms, canvases, paints, brushes, and other materials for programs Assist with opening and closing responsibilities Maintain clean, organized, attractive, and guest-ready teaching spaces Organize, stock, and maintain art supplies and inventory Complete basic computer/POS and registration functions Assist with Studio setup and program preparation Clean brushes, art materials, tables, floors, and work areas following programs Work independently while contributing positively to a small, collaborative Studio team What We're Looking For The right person for this position is an artist AND an entertainer/educator. You should be someone who can walk into a room, connect with your students, and make them genuinely excited about creating art. Required Qualifications Strong acrylic painting skills Experience teaching or leading step-by-step acrylic painting classes or group painting events Confident and engaging when speaking and demonstrating in front of groups FUN, energetic, outgoing, and comfortable being the personality in the room Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Genuine enjoyment of working with children and families Ability to teach students of different ages, abilities, and skill levels Dependable, organized, and able to work independently Comfortable recommending programs and encouraging student re-enrollment Basic computer and POS skills Must be 21 years of age or older Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Willingness to complete a CORI/background check and drug screening Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and school vacation weeks Willingness to occasionally travel for off-site events Preferred Experience Acrylic painting instruction Art education or studio art Children's art programs Camps or youth programming Birthday parties or children's entertainment Paint-and-sip/step-by-step painting events Customer service or sales Retail or keyholder experience A formal art degree is not required. We're much more interested in your artistic ability, teaching presence, personality, dependability, and ability to connect with students. You May Be a Great Fit If You Are...
