  • $102,056 a year 9 hours ago Qualifications School experience Behavior management Relationship building (classroom management strategies) Student engagement classroom management Full Job Description Elementary Art Coburn Elementary SchoolThis position requires a dynamic individual to teach Elementary School Art with an emphasis on the integration of elementary science education.
The ideal candidate will hold licensure in Visual Arts from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education while possessing a strong content background, solid classroom management skills, and excellent organizational skills. Previous teaching experience and familiarity with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks (Art & Science) is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for remaining up to date regarding curriculum content
  • Responsible for effective planning and assessment of the art curriculum and instruction
  • Responsible for mentoring students understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusting instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate
  • Responsible for effective management of the classroom environment
  • Responsible for providing best teaching practices, which includes clear learning goals to the students using appropriate instructional and questioning techniques.
  • Ability to Implement hands-on approach to inquiry based learning and investigation of art & science concepts which come alive within the conjoining of the fields. Willingness to differentiate learning content, process or product to support all learners and has a strong understanding of tiered Instructional routines.
  • Responsible for using innovative approaches, and instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learn.
  • Responsible for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student achievement
Qualifications & Requirements:
Licensure in Visual Arts (PreK-8) from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Strong content background in visual arts, and science with classroom management skills and excellent organizational skills. Hold a deep commitment to students and families and value diversity. Ability to build authentic, caring relationships with students, colleagues and families. A demonstrated belief that all learners can achieve at high levels. Previous teaching experience and familiarity with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks with a willingness to develop and refine an art & science instructional program for all learners. A demonstrated dedication to lifelong learning, reflection, and continued personal and professional growth Excellent interpersonal and collaborative teamwork skills Bachelor degree preferred Citizenship, residency or work visa required
