Possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in the area of Art Education. Evidence of prior successful teaching experience preferred. Demonstrate the ability to model, deliver, and craft rich student-centered learning experiences. Demonstrate the ability to create and implement strategies for weaving Art experiences into multi-disciplinary curricula from grades K through 5. Work in partnership with teachers and staff, modeling consistent effective teaching with technology, engagement, lesson plan design, use of technology, and online tools. Understand and be able to design, develop, assess, and manage Art learning experiences. Evidence of planning, organization, and time management skills that will bring structure and accountability to the position/program. Demonstrated ability to and the ability to build professional relationships, solve problems, and plan and work in a collaborative manner with parents and other professionals Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding staff, children and families.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Delivers Art instruction through project-based learning methods. Attends professional development and training related to Art programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research. Employs a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments, which guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and student learning Uses technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration. Works directly with school administrators and staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Art initiatives and curriculum. Organizes, develops, and coordinates special Art events/activities. Coaches teachers on Art initiatives and instructional best practices. Serves as liaison to various vendors and agencies to determine the best resources, options and innovations that will optimize the learning experience for students and staff. Initiates new programs that support the Art vision. Shares Art events and activities through various platforms to advertise programming. Strong Google Apps for Education skills (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, etc). Follows the District's job description for teachers. Please submit your application through Applitrack .
