Job Summary We are seeking a caring, creative, and enthusiastic PFM Art Specialist to lead a fun and engaging art program for young children as part of our afternoon preschool program. The ideal candidate has experience working with children and a passion for creativity and art. They will introduce preschool-aged children to a variety of age-appropriate art experiences, including drawing, painting, coloring, crafts, and creative exploration. This paid position is an opportunity to encourage children's imagination, creativity, confidence, fine-motor development, and self-expression in a fun and supportive environment.
$600.00 per month Responsibilities Lead a weekly art session for preschool-aged children. Plan and provide creative, age-appropriate art activities. Introduce children to different art materials, techniques, colors, textures, and creative processes. Lead activities such as drawing, painting, collage, crafts, and other hands-on art projects. Encourage children to explore their creativity and express themselves through art. Adapt activities to different children's ages, abilities, interests, and comfort levels. Create a positive, welcoming, and supportive environment. Encourage participation without focusing on creating a specific "perfect" result. Help children develop fine-motor skills, concentration, confidence, and creativity through hands-on activities. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized art area. Assist with setting up and cleaning up art materials and activities. Work collaboratively with preschool teachers and staff. Follow classroom safety procedures and program expectations. Collaborate with preschool staff to develop, complete, and prepare children's artwork for our annual school auction. Help select, organize, enhance, and creatively present children's artwork for the annual auction while preserving the children's original ideas and contributions. Requirements Previous experience working with preschool-aged children or young children. Experience teaching art, crafts, visual arts, early childhood education, or a similar children's program. Strong creative and artistic skills. Patient, dependable, enthusiastic, and comfortable working with preschoolers. Ability to make art activities fun, engaging, and age-appropriate. Strong communication and classroom-management skills. Ability to work with a variety of art materials safely and appropriately. Ability to adapt activities for different children's interests and abilities. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain certification. Must be available consistently one day per week from 2:50 PM-4:50 PM . Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who loves art and genuinely enjoys working with young children. They should be creative, patient, encouraging, and able to create an environment where children feel comfortable exploring, experimenting, and expressing themselves. The Art Specialist will also play an important role in our annual school auction , helping teachers and children turn their classroom art experiences into meaningful pieces that can be proudly shared with families and the school community. This position is well suited for an art teacher, artist, early childhood educator, crafts instructor, visual arts instructor, or children's enrichment teacher who would enjoy bringing creativity and hands-on art experiences to the preschool classroom one afternoon each week.
