If you're passionate about working with youth and creating positive experiences, the YMCA is the place for you. As a Youth Program Instructor, you'll lead engaging sports, recreation, wellness, and enrichment activities that help children build confidence, develop new skills, and have fun in a safe and welcoming environment. What You'll Be Doing Lead youth sports, recreation, wellness, and enrichment programs. Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for participants of all skill levels. Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities following YMCA guidelines. Set up and put away program equipment before and after activities. Maintain accurate program records and attendance. Share information about YMCA programs and services with members and families. Attend staff meetings, trainings, and other required events. Support additional program responsibilities as assigned. Someone who enjoys working with children and helping them succeed. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to create an inclusive and welcoming environment. A team player who is organized, responsible, and safety-minded. Requirements Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma required; college coursework preferred. Previous experience in education, recreation, physical education, teaching, or childcare preferred. Successfully complete a background check and Child Abuse and Neglect screening. Obtain and maintain YMCA-required certifications before your start date, including: First Aid/CPR/AED Required Risk Management and Safety online training modules Expectations Follow all YMCA policies and procedures, including child abuse prevention and emergency protocols. Maintain appropriate supervision and healthy boundaries with children and teens. Create a positive, safe, and inclusive experience for every participant. Report safety concerns, policy violations, and suspected abuse according to YMCA procedures. Represent the YMCA with professionalism, enthusiasm, and integrity.
