Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated English Language Development (ELD) and Chinese Teacher to join our dynamic team.
As an ELD instructor, you will be responsible for teaching students the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the English language. Your primary goal will be to create an engaging and supportive learning environment that fosters a love for English listening, speaking, reading and writing. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong background in literacy education. The candidate will also be responsible for teaching Chinese language courses.
Responsibilities:
Teach English listening, speaking, reading and writing to students of varying skill levels
Teach Chinese I, II, III, or AP Chinese
Develop and implement lesson plans that supplement existing materials
Foster a positive classroom environment through behavior management and classroom management techniques
Encourage students to develop their language skills through regular writing assignments and class discussions
Offer feedback on students' work and provide constructive criticism to help them improve their skills
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement new curricula and instructional methods
Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in teaching
Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide data-driven feedback to students, administration, and parents
Monitor and supervise students during class, transitions, recess, lunch, arrival/dismissal, or other assigned times to help maintain a safe, positive, and orderly learning environment.
Assist with light administrative duties, including organizing classroom materials and supporting general school operations as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
TESOL Certificate or equivalent
Experience teaching English language to students of varying skill levels
Experience with classroom management and behavior management techniques
Experience with literacy education
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
Ability to maintain a professional and organized work environment
Pay:
$20.00
