Job Requirements :
Indiana elementary or Spanish education teaching license, preferred Elementary experience, preferred Fluent in Spanish, required
Job Responsibilities:
Develops and administers Spanish Language and Culture (SLC) curriculum for Grades 1 - 4 Utilizes the Indiana Academic Standards for Spanish I as the guide for curriculum development Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for SLC Committed to Professional Learning Communities for school improvement. Employs a variety of instructional techniques that meet the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Maintains records on student progress and communicates with parents. Promotes continued student learning by creating a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Conducts assigned activities from the administration, in conformity with the approved policies of the Board of Education and State and Federal Law. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct. Develops reasonable procedures and rules of behavior in the classroom and maintains order in a fair and just manner. Participates cooperatively with the principal in performance evaluations. Performs other duties as assigned at the request of the superintendent, superintendent designee, or principal. Maintains confidentiality and supports the school and district. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
