English as a Second Language (ESL) Gen Ed Teacher - Harvey, Louisiana

Job Description

Bachelor's degree in Education, valid state Teaching license or certification, and 1+ years Teaching experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a dynamic teaching environment, supporting students' growth as an ESL or General Education Teacher within a vibrant district near Harvey, LA. This full-time, contract position offers the opportunity to foster academic success and language acquisition for learners in a supportive K-12 educational setting from August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
Current, active Louisiana Department of Education teaching certificate required Experience in general education and/or as an ESL teacher, with a passion for student success Willingness to complete time-sensitive background checks, including a district-required drug screen and fingerprinting Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, students, and families Adaptability and problem-solving abilities for a flexible caseload and school assignments
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging lessons for diverse student populations, supporting academic achievement and English language development according to district curriculum Assess student progress and tailor instruction to individual needs, maintaining accurate records and documentation Collaborate with classroom teachers, counselors, and administrators to enrich the school community and promote an inclusive learning environment Participate in professional development and contribute to meetings in line with school and district goals Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and classroom activities Enjoy the stability of a consistent weekday schedule during the school year, working 35 hours weekly with a balanced daily structure.
