Description:
Cambridge Center for Adult Education (CCAE), located in Harvard Square, is seeking a skilled and passionate Chinese knotting instructor to teach introductory and intermediate Chinese knotting workshops to groups of up to 10 students during the Winter term, which runs from January through March, with the potential to continue into future terms. The ideal candidate has experience teaching Chinese knotting, particularly to beginner and intermediate students, and is available to teach in person on weekday evenings and/or weekends. CCAE provides a dedicated studio space, and students may bring their own tools, cords, threads, and materials as appropriate. The hourly rate begins at $25+/hr,mensurate with experience. Instructors may also take one free class per term (up to a $320 value).
Qualifications:
Prior teaching experience, preferably with adult learners and/ormunity education Ability to engage and support a diversemunity of students Reliable, punctual, and able tomit to a consistent class schedule A portfolio demonstrating a range of Chinese knotting techniques, patterns, and skill levels Excellentmunication skills, with the ability to clearly explain Chinese knotting techniques and projects to beginners and intermediate students Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs and skill levels Knowledge of Chinese knotting techniques, traditional and contemporary approaches, knotting tools, cords, threads, fibers, and materials Amitment to maintaining a respectful and inclusive learning environment
