Adult Basic Education Instructor Schedule:
Mon, thru Fri 9-1 pm plus prep 1 hour per 4 plus curriculum for IELCE Start date: Oct 1, 2026

$32.81 per hour or per ABE teacher pay schedule

N/A Summary:
High intermediate level. English 7 - 28 person classes . 25 hours per week teaching, with 5 hours of paid prep. Help from the office for assessment both pre and post test. Curriculum will integrate for seamless starts for students into ParaProfessional program, CNA, IT , Transportation. The teacher will incorporate workplace English, digital literacy both in class and DL, and career readiness (including students working with outside agencies to facilitate career readiness). Students progress in the class will be evaluated with CASAS exam pre testing and after every 40 hours of learning a post test exam. This class will allow students to augment their participation in daytime class with afternoon training for Para, CNA, IT , Transportation, or other career readiness training. Lessons will also include writing professional emails , role playing job interviews, practicing verbal communication for customer or patient interactions. Civic instruction in the class will have participants learn about labor laws, voting rights, financial literacy, and community resources. Through accessing other Harmony resources such as the resume building class participants can be job ready. Instructor will make students aware of networking events and job fairs and help students partner with community resource agencies to meet their needs to support education and employment.
