Job Description

BURKE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS CTE BUSINESS TEACHER - MIDDLE SCHOOL

Antonio Lyerly-Principal 828-430-7340 antoniolyerly@burke.k12.nc.us North Carolina Licensure Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Must hold or be eligible to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator's License in Business, Finance, and Information Technology Education (License Area 760) or another approved CTE licensure area. Must meet all North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) requirements for CTE licensure. Must maintain a valid North Carolina teaching license throughout employment. Successful completion of all district, state, and federal employment requirements. Detailed Essential Functions Develop and implement standards-aligned lesson plans. Provide instruction in business, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, career development, and technology applications. Utilize data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction. Create a positive learning environment that promotes engagement and achievement. Integrate technology and project-based learning experiences. Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff. Support CTE program initiatives, career development activities, and student organizations. Participate in professional development and school improvement efforts. Comply with all Board of Education, district, state, and federal requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to supervise students in classrooms, hallways, and other school settings. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull instructional materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to use computers, interactive technology, and other instructional equipment. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms. Ability to perform duties in a typical school environment with reasonable accommodations when applicable.
