Athletic Performance/Strength and Conditioning Coach

Job Description

Bishop Amat Memorial High School, a coeducational, archdiocesan high school in La Puente, is seeking a full-time (40 hour/week; 12 month) Athletic Performance/Strength and Conditioning Coach as a contributing member of our school's athletic program. Recognized for its tradition of competitive excellence and emphasis on character, sportsmanship, discipline, and personal growth, the Bishop Amat Athletic Department seeks a like minded professional to serve student-athletes across its 22 sports programs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs, implements, conducts, and monitors strength and conditioning protocols for Bishop Amat High School's athletic program. Schedules strength and conditioning workouts specific to the needs of each sport in the school's athletic program, in cooperation with head coaches and guidance of the athletic department administration. Provides expertise in the areas of strength (weight) training and physical conditioning as requested by head coaches in all sports offered through the school's athletic program. Coordinates student-athlete rehabilitation in collaboration with the school's athletic trainer; assists with the rehabilitation of injured student-athletes. Educates student-athletes regarding nutrition and generalized physical fitness. Assists with coordination, maintenance, and staffing of weight room/strength facilities; assists in identifying and proposing necessary strength and conditioning equipment; assists in scheduling weight room training sessions in collaboration with head coaches and the athletic director. Maintains accurate records of strength development for athletic teams and specific student-athletes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge of strength and conditioning equipment Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with colleagues, student-athletes, and members of the school community Ability to maintain appropriate supervision of student-athletes, providing motivation in a professional and appropriate manner Requirements Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred 3-5 years of related experience preferred National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) / Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) certification preferred Wage Range The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
