Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Women's Head Softball Coach to lead our collegiate softball program with enthusiasm and strategic insight. Responsibilities Lead the recruitment, training, and development of women's softball athletes, emphasizing skill improvement and sportsmanship. Design and implement comprehensive practice plans that incorporate sport-specific training instruction to enhance player performance. Develop game strategies, analyze team performance, and make real-time decisions during competitions to maximize success. Foster a positive team culture through effective communication skills, behavior management techniques, and mentorship. Coordinate with athletic department staff to ensure compliance with league regulations and academic standards for student-athletes. Oversee conditioning programs, injury prevention protocols, including AED operation and first aid/CPR readiness, to maintain athlete safety. Promote teamwork and leadership among players through motivational coaching and team-building activities. Requirements Proven experience in sports coaching with a focus on softball or similar team sports; previous head coaching experience is preferred. Strong background in sports-specific training instruction, including techniques relevant to softball. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children or student-athletes in a competitive environment. Excellent communication skills for client (player) communication, staff collaboration, and community engagement. Knowledge of health club or gym environments, with experience working with athletes on physical conditioning routines. Certifications in first aid and CPR; AED operation certification is highly desirable. Experience working with diverse groups of students or athletes from various backgrounds; familiarity with behavior management strategies is essential. Additional experience in related sports such as soccer coaching, basketball, cheerleading, climbing, martial arts (karate or judo), or swimming will be considered advantageous.
