Simpson College:
Athletics:
Gymnastics Location Indianola Open Date Aug 07, 2026 Description Assist Head Coach in management of the men's gymnastics team. Duties include but are not limited to coaching, recruiting, and travel logistics.
Essential job functions include:
Assist in the direction of workouts. (40%)
  • Create and execute training plans for 3 events; Improvise in the gym; Advise and manage routine construction. Coach at Competitions (20%)
  • Set lineups; Equipment setup for home competitions; Travel to all away competitions; Know routines and be prepared for inquiries. Recruit prospective student athletes. (20%)
  • Assess skill level and competitiveness of high school athletes; Communicate clearly and professionally with prospective athletes; Participate in on campus recruiting trips. Manage travel plans. (10%)
  • Book and coordinate flights, rental cars, hotels, etc.; Drive rental vehicles when necessary; Help coordinate meals. Assist in administering team events. (5%) Assist and participate in athlete development programs (5%)
  • Freshmen Check-ins; Captain Meetings.

Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer, telephone, and other standard office or instructional equipment. Visual acuity sufficient to read printed materials, digital screens, and documents. May involve extended periods of time at a computer workstation and participation in meetings conducted virtually or in person. May occasionally require attendance at evening or weekend events, such as student activities, faculty meetings, or institutional programs.
