Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Girls High School Basketball Head Coach to lead and inspire our student-athletes. This role involves developing competitive basketball teams, fostering teamwork, and promoting sportsmanship among young women. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for coaching, a strong background in basketball, and experience working with youth to help students reach their full potential both on and off the court. As the head coach, you will be responsible for creating a positive, motivating environment that encourages growth, discipline, and excellence in all aspects of the sport. Duties Plan and execute comprehensive training sessions focused on basketball skills, team strategy, and physical conditioning. Lead team practices, ensuring all players develop their skills while emphasizing teamwork and sportsmanship. Develop game strategies, analyze team performance, and make real-time decisions during competitions to maximize team success. Foster a safe and inclusive environment by implementing behavior management techniques and promoting respect among players. Communicate regularly with student-athletes, parents, school staff, and athletic administrators to provide updates on team progress and upcoming events. Oversee team logistics including scheduling games, coordinating transportation, and managing equipment inventory. Promote character development through mentorship, emphasizing leadership, discipline, and healthy lifestyle choices such as swimming or martial arts when appropriate. Experience Proven coaching experience in basketball at the high school or youth level with demonstrated success in team leadership. Strong background in sports-specific training instruction with knowledge of basketball fundamentals and advanced tactics. Experience working with children or adolescents in educational or extracurricular settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with health and safety protocols including first aid, CPR certification, AED operation, and emergency response procedures. Background in other sports such as soccer coaching or cheerleading can enhance coaching versatility. Prior involvement in physical education teaching or sports team experience helps foster effective communication skills and behavior management techniques. Additional experience in swimming, martial arts (like karate or judo), climbing, or gym/health club environments is a plus for promoting diverse athletic development.
