MS Volleyball Coach
Job Description
Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic coach to lead the middle school volleyball program at Reed City Middle School for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport, a commitment to fostering student-athlete development, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive team environment. This seasonal position requires effective communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and a focus on skill development and teamwork. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and conduct daily practice sessions that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Develop game strategies and prepare the team for competitions. Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback to athletes. Foster a positive team culture that encourages respect, collaboration, and personal growth among student-athletes. Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding practice schedules, game details, and team expectations. Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and competitions. Uphold and enforce school policies, rules, and regulations related to athletics. Attend all scheduled games and events, supporting the team and representing Reed City Middle School positively. Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to promote a cohesive athletic program. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills and knowledge of the sport. Requirements Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school level or higher, is preferred. Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, strategies, and techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. First Aid and CPR certification is preferred or must be obtained prior to the start of the season. A background check will be required prior to hiring. Availability to work evenings and weekends during the season. A passion for promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal development in young athletes.
