This is a part-time coaching position, with a stipend of $2,000 to $2,500 per season based on experience. As a vital member of our athletic department, you will lead practices, coordinate games, and mentor students both on and off the court. Responsibilities Lead and organize all aspects of a middle school basketball program, including practices, games, and tournaments. Develop comprehensive training plans that improve individual skills and team cohesion while emphasizing sportsmanship and teamwork. Monitor student-athletes' behavior during practices and competitions, ensuring adherence to school policies and fostering a positive environment. Collaborate with physical education teachers to integrate basketball skills into broader fitness and health curricula. Manage equipment inventory, maintain safety standards during activities, and ensure proper use of sports facilities. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff regarding team progress, schedules, and student development. Promote a culture of respect, discipline, and enthusiasm for sports through mentorship and leadership. Skills Proven experience coaching basketball at middle school or youth levels with a focus on skill development and team building. Strong background in sports coaching combined with knowledge of physical education principles. Experience working with children or adolescents in educational or childcare settings. Familiarity with martial arts such as Karate or Judo enhances discipline training techniques. Knowledge of swimming, climbing, cheerleading, or other physical activities that support overall athletic development is a plus. Ability to manage behavior effectively while fostering a fun and motivating environment for students. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and fellow coaches.
