Location :
In-person Ascend Athletics is looking for a part-time Strength & Conditioning Coach with the potential to grow into a full-time role. We are looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented coach who wants to develop athletes, lead training sessions, and be part of a growing sports performance facility. This is not just a "run the workout" position. Our coaches are expected to lead people, drive culture, build relationships, and help make Ascend Athletics the best hour of every athlete's day. This role is ideal for a coach who has a strength and conditioning background, wants to grow inside a performance facility, and is excited to work with youth athletes, high school athletes, college athletes, and adult clients. About Ascend Athletics Ascend Athletics is a sports performance and training facility in Edgewater, NJ built around elite coaching, strong culture, and real results. What You'll Do As a Strength & Conditioning Coach at Ascend Athletics, you will: Deliver high-energy, technically sound training sessions Coach group, semi-private, and private training sessions Follow Ascend Athletics programming, progressions, and coaching standards Coach athletes through strength, power, speed, movement quality, and performance-based training Create a fun, competitive, welcoming, and professional training environment Hold athletes accountable to effort, attendance, attitude, and consistency Build strong relationships with athletes, parents, clients, and teammates Help athletes understand their goals, progress, and milestones Maintain a clean, organized, professional training floor Complete attendance, session logging, schedule time-stamps, and basic administrative responsibilities Follow up with athletes who miss sessions or lose momentum Support Ascend Athletics culture through team collaboration, community engagement, and social content when appropriate Participate in internal education, workshops, meetings, and coach development Our Coaching Standard Every coach at Ascend is expected to bring energy, professionalism, and ownership to the floor.

Who We're Looking For The right candidate is someone who: Has at least 1 year of coaching experience 2Has a strength and conditioning degree, exercise science background, sports performance background, or equivalent coaching experience Has a strong understanding of exercise technique, progressions, regressions, and safe coaching practices Communicates well with athletes, parents, adult clients, and teammates Brings positive energy to every session Can coach groups with confidence, control, and enthusiasm Is coachable and actively seeks feedback Takes pride in being early, prepared, and professional Treats the gym like it's their own Wants to grow as both a coach and leader within Ascend Athletics Aligns with our core values: People First, Innovators, Leaders, Dedicated & Committed, and Humility Preferred Qualifications Experience working with youth athletes, high school athletes, or college athletes Experience in sports performance, strength and conditioning, personal training, or group training Background as an athlete or experience around competitive sports Experience with sports technology such as force plates, timing gates, velocity-based training, athlete testing, or performance tracking Certifications such as CSCS, NSCA, NASM, ACSM, USAW, CPT, or similar credentials Interest in long-term growth inside a performance facility Compensation Ascend Athletics uses a tiered compensation structure based on experience, role responsibility, and session type.
Office/Admin Hours:
$18/hour
Group Training Hours:
$24-$55/hour depending on coaching tier and session type
Private Training:

Qualified applicants will be invited to a phone call first. From there, selected candidates will be invited to an in-person interview at our facility in Edgewater.
