Studio Director / Program Director About the Position We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and highly skilled Cheer & Majorette Coach to join our performing arts team. The ideal candidate is proficient in both competitive cheerleading and majorette , with the ability to develop athletes technically, physically, and creatively. This coach will be responsible for leading training sessions, developing competition-ready choreography, and creating an environment that promotes discipline, confidence, teamwork, excellence, and sportsmanship. Key Responsibilities Teach and coach Cheer and Majorette techniques to students of varying ages and skill levels. Develop and teach competition-level choreography for cheer and majorette teams. Create routines that incorporate appropriate skills, formations, transitions, musicality, performance quality, and difficulty. Prepare teams for competitions, showcases, performances, and other events . Instruct students in proper stretching, flexibility, warm-up, and recovery techniques. Lead conditioning and strength-training classes appropriate for the age and skill level of students. Teach proper body alignment, technique, jumps, turns, kicks, motions, dance elements, and performance skills. Develop athletes' strength, stamina, flexibility, coordination, and overall physical preparedness. Provide constructive feedback and individualized coaching to help students improve. Maintain a safe, structured, positive, and encouraging training environment. Monitor students during classes and rehearsals to ensure proper technique and safe execution of movements. Collaborate with studio leadership and other teaching artists to support the overall development of students and teams. Attend required rehearsals, competitions, performances, meetings, and team events. Communicate professionally with studio leadership, students, and families. Uphold studio policies, standards, and expectations. Required Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency and experience in both Cheer and Majorette . Previous experience coaching, teaching, or training cheer and/or majorette students. Strong choreography skills with experience creating competition routines . Ability to teach choreography clearly and effectively to groups. Strong knowledge of stretching, flexibility, conditioning, and physical preparation. Ability to modify instruction and conditioning based on students' age, experience, and ability level. Strong understanding of safety, proper technique, and injury prevention. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. Reliable, punctual, professional, and organized. Ability to work collaboratively within a performing arts team. Preferred Qualifications Competitive cheer or majorette performance/coaching experience. Experience preparing teams for regional, national, or other competitive events. Experience working with children and teens. Background in dance, tumbling, gymnastics, strength & conditioning, or other related disciplines. Experience choreographing for multiple age groups and skill levels. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus. Schedule Schedule will vary based on program needs and may include: Daily classes Team practices Stretching & conditioning sessions Competition rehearsals Additional rehearsals leading up to competitions and performances Competitions and performance events Additional hours may be required during competition and performance seasons.
