Immediately Job Description Norris Middle School is accepting applications for a Boys Basketball Assistant Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is responsible for assisting the head coach in all aspects of the basketball program while providing a positive and supportive experience for student-athletes. Responsibilities include: Assist with planning and conducting practices and games. Encourage sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and personal growth. Help monitor student-athlete academic eligibility and behavior. Assist with supervision of athletes during practices, games, and team travel. Support the implementation of the team's philosophy, goals, and expectations. Comply with all Anderson County Schools, TMSSAA/TSSAA, and school policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Previous coaching or playing experience in basketball is preferred. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, faculty, and the community. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Must meet all district employment requirements and coaching certification requirements. The ideal candidate will be committed to developing student-athletes through skill development, teamwork, accountability, and a positive middle school athletic experience.
