The Assistant Rodeo Coach will assist the Head Rodeo Coach in all aspects of the rodeo program operations.
Responsibilities include recruiting prospective student-athletes, supporting academic success initiatives, supervising practices, assisting with livestock management, maintaining facilities and equipment, and supporting the administrative functions of the program. The position requires travel, evening and weekend hours, and a strong commitment to student development and competitive excellence. The position reports directly to the Head Rodeo Coach. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Assist with the recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes. 2. Maintain communication with high school and junior college competitors to support recruiting efforts. 3. Assist in developing and maintaining a competitive rodeo team roster. 4. Support daily livestock care, including feeding, watering, and monitoring animal health. 5. Assist with organizing, preparing, and supervising daily practices and training sessions. 6. Provide technical instruction and guidance to student-athletes during practices and competitions. 7. Monitor academic progress and encourage student-athlete success and class attendance. 8. Help maintain discipline, professionalism, and program expectations among team members. 9. Assist with maintenance and upkeep of the rodeo arena, equipment, and related facilities. 10. Perform general administrative and computer-related tasks, including scheduling, communication, and record keeping. 11. Assist with travel coordination and preparation for rodeo events and competitions. 12. Support college and athletic department activities, events, and special projects. 13. Comply with all college policies, rules, and regulations. 14. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Head Rodeo Coach and/or the President.
