Job Description
The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office offers internships to undergraduate students who are interested in criminal justice, such as law enforcement, detention, and administration. Our Internship Program allows students to get quality hands-on experience while also providing an opportunity to explore a career with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office. The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office offers internships to undergraduate students who are interested in criminal justice, such as law enforcement, detention, and administration. Students who are applying must attach the required documents to the application: Statement explaining the motivation, interest and goals for applying to the program Current academic transcripts Personal resume The Internship Program has three semesters: spring (January-April), summer (May-August) and fall (September-December). Interested students must meet the following qualifications at the time of application in order to be considered for the program: Be at least 19 years old Be working on an undergraduate in criminal justice, psychology, social work or any field related to the functions of a large organization, from an accredited college or university. (Must have taken at least 2 classes towards desired major) Must be fulfilling an academic credit Have a minimum 2.8 GPA. Recommendation from faculty advisor Have an interest in law enforcement and/or public safety Successful completion of background investigation Be highly motivated and responsible
