Job Description

Inservice Center Normal Work Schedule:

Monday

•Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary:

The Education Specialist works with Teachers and schools who participate in the Alabama Math, Science, Technology Initiative (AMSTI) project or Science-in-Motion project. Provides professional development and follow-up support services to teachers and schools.

Additional Department Summary:

This position requires some overnight travel.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in education, math, science, or a related degree in a math or science field and some experience in an education work environment. Must be certified to teach in Alabama. Teacher Certificate issued by the Alabama State Department of Education.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge:

Knowledge of keyboarding, personal computers usage, and standard application software (Word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation programs). Strong interpersonal skills in a professional setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Three (3) years of experience in education with a background in Secondary Math.
