Are you a whiz at teaching English and Writing? Do you have an ability to take complex material and distill them into meaningful curriculum. Then this job is perfect for you! This educational consulting and test preparation office is looking to find a talented individual who can take on teaching and curriculum development opportunities in this growing company. We are particularly interested in an individual who has a test preparation background (SAT/ACT) and/or a background in higher level English instruction
(Rhetoric, Creative Writing, etc.
) This boutique firm provides services in academic tutoring, test preparation, and college admissions counseling. The owner needs a motivated individual who not only has the heart of a teacher but is also willing to take on more curriculum development tasks to take this company to the next level.
Responsibilities may include the following:
Proctoring exams
Developing curriculum or lesson plans (particularly for executive skills)
Assisting with content creation for online courses
Coaching clients in either academic topics or study habits
Teaching clients privately or in a group class setting
Communicating with families Ideal candidates would possess the following:
Strong organizational ability
Verbal and written communication skills
Patience when dealing with clients and families
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Weekend availability (many students are only free on weekends)
Experience in teaching, tutoring, and/or test preparation
Passion for education
Ability to teach up to AP/college-level English Additional consideration will be given for the following:
Experience with large test preparation company
Strong writing ability
Strong ties to an existing educational institution (ex., adjunct professor at a local college) Perks of working with us:
