Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dynamic ELA Middle School Teacher to inspire and educate students in English Language Arts. In this role, you will develop engaging curricula, foster a love for reading and writing, and support students' academic growth. Your expertise in instructional design, classroom management, and educational technology will empower students to excel in literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills. Duties Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including AP (Advanced Placement) programs and standardized testing requirements. Develop innovative instructional materials utilizing educational technology and learning styles adaptability to meet diverse student needs. Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques. Incorporate curriculum development best practices, including AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, and copy editing skills into writing assignments and projects. Mentor students in creative writing, journalism, literacy education, and social sciences to enhance their analytical and expressive abilities. Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, curriculum integration, and instructional design to ensure consistency and high-quality education delivery. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and academic achievements while maintaining educational compliance and regulation standards. Implement IT-integrated lessons using educational technology tools to enhance engagement and learning outcomes. Provide academic advising and support for students working toward higher education goals or preparing for standardized assessments. Engage in ongoing professional development related to research-based teaching methods, library services integration, and higher education teaching strategies. Experience Proven classroom experience teaching middle school students with a focus on English Language Arts or related subjects such as social sciences or literacy education. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, lesson planning, and assessment strategies. Strong background in teaching social sciences or humanities at the middle or high school level; private school experience is a plus. Familiarity with AP (Advanced Placement) programs, standardized testing procedures, and educational technology integration. Experience working with diverse learning styles and implementing differentiated instruction to meet individual student needs. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and administrators. Knowledge of educational compliance regulations and experience managing classroom behavior effectively. Background in research or higher education teaching is advantageous for fostering critical thinking skills among students.
