Job Description

Job Purpose Statement:
The purpose of the Instruction and Technology Specialist (ITS) is to coach and mentor teachers to enhance their instruction, integrating impactful research-based strategies and meaningful technology tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Teaching License, 5+ years of classroom teaching experience.

Deep knowledge of and experience in instructional strategies and assessment-driven instruction. Technologically proficient Strong written and verbal communication skills. Innovative. Ability to effectively train and collaborate with faculty Ability to multitask and manage time. Ability to work with teachers and students of all ages.
Key Performance Responsibilities:
Effectively use and provide support for current, district-provided technology (both hardware and software applications) and instructional practices in the classroom, including classroom visits to help coach/mentor staff. Collaborate with teachers and administration in individual or team meetings for the purpose of better understanding learning goals and developing training on the use of instructional resources. Assess and identify teacher needs and recommend appropriate strategies to support instruction in the classroom. Explore online or other instructional technology resources to improve classroom instruction and enhance student learning opportunities. Pursue opportunities (attend professional organization meetings, webinars, and technology department meetings) to improve knowledge and practice and seek professional development opportunities. Research student and staff data privacy and terms of use for current and new online resources. Works with Building Administrators, Technology Director, and Tri-County ITS to develop relevant parent communication (social media posts, meeting/event presentations, etc). Coordinates with building administration, counselors, and the Technology Director to develop relevant technology literacy skills or classroom lessons for Digital Learning Week and CyberSecurity Safety Month. Facilitate or conduct technology-focused professional learning for school and district staff. Help maintain the corporation's social media Assist with the vetting/evaluation process of potential curriculum adoption materials and participate in the implementation training with the staff of adopted curriculum resources in order to train/support staff implementation. Provide support in creating or reviewing student assessments and analyzing student assessment data. Assist teachers with designing instructional decisions based on assessment data. Assist teachers in obtaining or creating materials that are in alignment with curriculum. Model effective, differentiated instruction when requested. Provide encouragement and support to teachers. Encourage ongoing professional growth for all teachers. Develop and maintain a confidential, collegial relationship with teachers. Perform duties as assigned by the Building Administrator Maintains high ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students
