Aug 26, 2026 Job Description Valid Massachusetts Reading Specialist certification Demonstrated understanding of the science of reading Experience supporting teachers with literacy programs and instructional strategies Comfortable using a coaching model to foster teacher growth Strong instructional skills across the five components of reading Effective communicator with students, families, and colleagues Passion for working with small groups, struggling readers, and students with IEPs Skilled in analyzing and using data to plan instruction and support peers Collaborative mindset with experience working on school and district teams Orton-Gillingham certification (or willingness to obtain) Proven ability to lead Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) focused on literacy Experience planning and delivering high-impact professional development Ability to facilitate data-driven instructional conversations and model best practices
