Job Description
TITLE:
LTS Lower School Teacher Instructional Technology Specialis
QUALIFICATIONS
1.Certified or certifiable as an Instructional Technology Specialist by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
2.Knowledge of productivity tools use such as word processing, database, spreadsheet, desktop publishing, telecommunications, and print/graphic utilities
3.Knowledge of selection, evaluation and use of appropriate computer/technology based materials to support the instruction process
4.Knowledge of the Massachusetts State Curriculum Frameworks and Common Core of Learning
5.Communication and inter-personal skills which would be required for user support and training, and interaction with teachers and other professional staff
6.Demonstrated experience in Windows, OS, and Chrome operating systems, Google Apps for Education, and iOS devices
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Guide the classroom teachers in effective integration of technology into the Methuen Public Schools Curriculum
2.Provide assistance with managing the 1:1 implementation for all grades at MHS
3.Assist the school system in identifying, evaluating, and applying emerging technologies to enhance the teaching/learning process in the Methuen Public Schools
4.Schedule the computer labs to help insure equitable use
5.Monitor the maintenance needs of all computer equipment in the building
6.Identify the hardware and software needs of the school
7.Provide teachers with professional development in the integration of technology into the existing curriculum
8.Provide staff with a variety of professional development opportunities, including workshops, embedded assistance, digital resources, and/or print resources
9.Model demonstration lessons on the effective implementation of the Methuen Public Schools Technology Curriculum
10.Maintain contact with the Director of Instructional Technology in order to help insure that the above is being done
