Nurturing Parenting Program Parent Education Coordinator

Job Description

Summary:
The Parent Education Coordinator seeks to enhance parenting skills and child development by empowering parents to be their child's most important teacher. Parent Education Coordinators will educate and provide support to families implementing the Nurturing Skills for Families program guide.
Specific position duties and responsibilites:
Administer pre and post assessment screenings Evaluate the needs of families and make proper referrals Educate parents on available resources Monitor progress and goals of all participating families on a regular basis Provide information and parent education to families being served Provide home visits according to model fidelity through the Nurturing Parenting Program Maintain all participant files in organized manner Complete monthly and quarterly reports in a timely manner Meet goals and outcomes required by funding source General Agency duties and responsibilities: Completes all required training Participates in agency outreach and fundraising events Demonstrates a willingness to assist in other agency programs as needed Acts as custodian and demonstrates responsible and ethical use of agency property and facilities Displays sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics Strives to embody the agency's Code of Ethics while working toward the agency's mission Learns and demonstrates Agency Wide Competencies including the areas of consumer and community relationships, continuous individual and agency-wide improvement, vision and purpose, respect and teamwork, and positive leadership Other duties as assigned Minimum qualifications: Four year degree in Human Services or Education (early childhood development, social services, child welfare, health services or related area) At least two years experience working with at-risk children and families Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Strong organizational skills Experience working in dynamic team environment and ability to be flexible in duties Exceptional interpersonal skills Community needs/resources Budgeting and management Other requirements: Valid North Carolina driver's license and satisfactory driving record Personal vehicle for use in conducting home visits in the event agency vehicles are not available Proof of current and valid car insurance Acceptable background reports Negative drug screen results Work environment: Occasional evening and weekend hours required Culture of care and wellness with work environment Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions Potential exposure to blood borne and/or airborne pathogens
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $41,000.00 per year
