Job Summary The Director of Online Course Life Cycle provides leadership and coordination for the planning, development, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of online course environments within the School of Nursing. This position works collaboratively with faculty, instructional design, academic leadership, and support teams to ensure online courses are high quality, current, accessible, aligned with program outcomes, and consistent with university standards. This position will collaborate with the Office of Digital Learning on design, development, and delivery of online and technology-enhanced instructional materials to ensure adherence to university standards for course design, accessibility, and learning technology use. Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks Lead the full online course life cycle, including course planning, development, launch, review, revision, and continuous improvement. Coordinate with faculty, instructional designers, academic leaders, and support teams to ensure online courses are current, consistent, accessible, and aligned with program and university standards. Develop and maintain timelines, workflows, checklists, and communication processes that support timely course development, updates, and quality review. Monitor online course quality, functionality, and readiness before each term and recommend improvements based on faculty feedback, student experience, outcomes data, and best practices. Support faculty in implementing effective online teaching practices, course organization, learning activities, assessment alignment, and use of instructional technologies. Maintain documentation of course development status, revision history, quality review findings, and related reports for academic leadership. Required Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, nursing, health sciences, educational technology, or a related field required. Five (5) years of related experience. Experience supporting online course development, course quality review, instructional technology, academic program coordination, or related higher education functions required. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Preferred Education/Experience Master's degree in nursing, education, instructional design, educational technology, or a related field. Experience working with faculty and academic teams in a college, school, or university setting. Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies Knowledge of online course design, delivery, evaluation, and quality improvement practices. Ability to manage course development timelines, workflows, priorities, and documentation with attention to detail. Skill in collaborating with faculty, instructional designers, academic leaders, and technology support teams. Ability to apply university, program, accessibility, and instructional quality standards to online courses. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and project coordination skills. Competence in using learning management systems, instructional technologies, and data to support course readiness and improvement.
