Job Description:
The Digital Education Collaborative (DEC) in the division of Academic Affairs invites applications for an Instructional Designer (FA101).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to design, develop, and enhance high-quality learning experiences across face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning environments. Consult with faculty on instructional design, learning technologies, learning outcomes, assessment, accessibility, and the integration of emerging technologies, including generative AI Develop and deliver faculty development trainings, instructional resources, and support materials Evaluate, implement, and support instructional technology tools to enhance teaching and student success Implement innovative solutions that enhance teaching and learning This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University's campus. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Requirements:
Required qualifications: Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or similar field Experience with, or knowledge of Generative AI in teaching and learning context Experience providing training, technical support, or consultations in a higher ed environment Ability to work collaboratively with others, especially higher ed faculty Experience with an LMS, Canvas preferred Knowledge of instructional design principles Ability to communicate technical information to audiences with varying levels of technical experience Preferred qualifications: Experience working with accessibility policies and technology Experience with educational technology tools such as Zoom, PollEverywhere, Ally, Respondus Ability to evaluate instructional needs and recommend effective solutions Ability to develop effective documentation and training materials
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, administrative & professional faculty, exempt position. The anticipated salary range for this position will be $58,000 to $62,000 annually. A successful fingerprint-based criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
