Part-Time (4 Hours Per Month) Position Overview ESDMT (El Son de Mi Tierra) is seeking a passionate and energetic Folklórico Dance Instructor to teach elementary students in grades 2-5 through the beauty and traditions of Mexican folklórico. This is a part-time position consisting of one 1-hour class per week , for a total of 4 classes per month . The position begins the first week of September 2026 and runs through December 2026 , with the possibility of extending through June 2027 based on program enrollment and performance. We offer a flexible schedule , allowing you to choose the weekday that works best for you.

12:45 PM•1:45 PM You will teach one class each week on the day that best fits your schedule. This paid position offers an opportunity to inspire young students while helping them build confidence, discipline, teamwork, and pride in their cultural heritage through dance. Responsibilities Plan and teach engaging Folklórico dance lessons for elementary students in grades 2-5 . Teach traditional dance techniques, choreography, performance skills, and the cultural significance behind each dance. Create fun, age-appropriate lessons that keep students engaged while learning. Foster a positive, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment. Prepare students for school performances and community events throughout the school year. Communicate professionally with the program director regarding attendance, student progress, and classroom needs. Arrive prepared and on time for each weekly class. Qualifications Experience teaching or performing Mexican Folklórico . Experience working with elementary-aged children is preferred. Ability to choreograph dances appropriate for students in grades 2-5 . Strong classroom management skills. Reliable, professional, and punctual. Passion for preserving and sharing Mexican culture through dance. Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with the program director. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching after-school enrichment programs. Experience preparing students for performances. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
