Therapeutic Art Facilitator for Seniors ArtCosima LLC Pikesville, MD Job Details Part-time | Contract | Internship From $50 an hour 20 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Working with seniors Older adults Patience Art projects (creative arts teaching) Full Job Description Therapeutic Art Facilitator for Seniors ArtCosima is looking for people who can be trained as interns and then hired as independent contractors to teach group art classes with seniors. The right person must be gentle, patient, compassionate, and comfortable working with seniors. The classes are therapeutic in nature, and interns will be trained on how to use art in a therapeutic way when working with seniors. Experience working with seniors and/or teaching art is preferred but not required.

Requirements:

Must have reliable transportation. Most classes will be in or around the 21209 area, but locations may vary. Must be comfortable working with seniors in a caring and respectful manner. Must complete a background check before being hired as an independent contractor Lesson plans will be provided, and instructors will be trained on the lessons before teaching the classes. All materials will be provided. Most classes will be 30 minutes, with opportunities for longer classes. Each facility has unique needs, which will be explained during the training. Most classes will require signing in and out of the facility as an employee of ArtCosima, set up, clean up, and helping seniors to the table. Teaching schedule is flexible with a minimum of one class a week. Schedules will be created together in the beginning of each month. Usually there will be the option to keep the same schedule, change times, and sometimes take on more classes.

Training & Compensation:

Initial training internship is unpaid. Internship should be expected to last 1-2 months. 4-5 hours a week. After training, instructors can be hired as independent contractors. Starting pay is $25 per 30-minute class. Longer classes will start at $50 per hour. Opportunities for pay increases will be available based on experience and performance. As a contractor, the instructor would be responsible for their own transportation fees and taxes. Please email your resume and a bit about yourself to if interested.
