Today we run two studios (Long Beach and Garden City). Rockville Centre is next, and in 2027 we're opening a retreat destination in Bovina, New York. We're building a bench across our class lineup and across that studio mix. Instructors who want to teach at more than one location, and eventually help run retreats, are especially welcome. This is part-time teaching, not a full-time studio job. Some instructors teach one or two formats; some cover a wider mix. We especially value people who can teach more than one class type, with scheduling that flexes around the classes themselves. We're looking for strong intermediate-to-expert wheel potters who are great with people. You don't need to be an expert at every class we offer. Intro classes follow the EAPS teaching format (we train you). Class size is up to 12. Studio assistants support the room (hired separately). Current classes we're looking to cover:

• Wheel Wind Down — beginner-friendly evening wheel; guests center, open, and pull simple forms (bowls, cups) in a calm social room of up to 12; often date-night / come-with-friends energy
• Throw Together — small-group and family wheel sessions
• Private Events — birthday parties, corporate, bachelorette, and other private wheel bookings
• Pottery Foundations — structured beginner series; multi-session intro to wheel and the EAPS way
• Intermediate — for guests past absolute beginner who want stronger throwing and form control
• Specialty classes — themed or skill-focused workshops for the right instructor Responsibilities
• Teach the classes you take on
• Demo centering, opening, pulling, and shaping clearly
• Guide and troubleshoot so guests leave proud of what they made
• Keep the room fun, relaxed, and welcoming
• Run setup before class and cleanup after every class
• Follow the EAPS teaching format for intro classes (we train)
• Where experience allows: kiln loading, pug mill, and related studio prep around your classes (ops hours scheduled separately from instruction) Minimum qualifications
• Intermediate-to-expert pottery wheel skills (years of throwing experience; confident center, open, pull, and trim rim/skirt)
• Comfortable leading a room of up to 12 people
• Open to our training and teaching to our format
• Flexible, adaptable, and keeps things simple
• Availability for evenings and/or weekends and/or weekday daytime Preferred qualifications
• Prior teaching, workshop, or guest-facing studio work (strong wheel without teaching experience is fine; we can train teaching)
• Interest in covering more than one class type and/or more than one studio
• Interest in retreat teaching as Bovina comes online
• Comfort with kiln loading and other studio operations Compensation and benefits
