Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Classical Ballet Instructor to inspire students all ages and skill levels through the art of ballet. In this dynamic role, you will engage dancers through our curricula and lead classes, and foster a positive learning environment that encourages creativity, discipline, and technical mastery. The ideal candidate will bring a vibrant teaching style, a deep love for dance, and experience working with diverse age groups in both educational and performance settings. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the next generation of dancers while honing your choreography and arts instruction skills. Responsibilities Lead engaging ballet classes that emphasize proper technique, posture, musicality, and artistic expression. Create choreography for student performances, recitals, or community events that showcase students' progress and creativity. Foster a supportive classroom environment by managing behavior effectively and encouraging positive interactions among students. Incorporate elements of theater experience, dance history, and creative arts instruction into your lessons to enrich students' understanding of ballet as an art form. Adapt teaching methods to accommodate children with special education needs or early childhood development requirements. Maintain classroom organization, ensure safety protocols are followed, and manage lesson planning efficiently for consistent class quality. Skills Extensive knowledge of ballet techniques combined with experience in choreography and creative arts instruction. Proven ability to teach visual & performing arts to diverse age groups, including youth programs and adult education settings. Strong classroom management skills with expertise in behavior management and childhood development strategies. Experience working with children, including preschoolers or students in early childhood education programs. Ability to develop engaging curricula that integrate dance with other arts such as music or theater. Skills in lesson planning, tutoring, and adapting instruction for special education or unique learning needs.
