The ELA DCI will support the development of math teachers in grades 3-8 across all Scholarship Prep campuses. Major responsibilities include weekly on-site observation and feedback cycles, developing and facilitating professional development, and partnering with site administrators to strengthen teaching and learning.
Objective and Job Summary:
The Director of Curriculum and Instruction (DCI) leads the development and continuous improvement of instructional practices across Scholarship Prep. The DCI regularly conducts classroom observations and school-wide instructional walkthroughs independently, with Principals, and with broader school and Home Office leadership teams. Through these observations, the DCI identifies instructional strengths and needs, provides actionable feedback, supports professional growth, and helps school leaders strengthen instructional quality and consistency. The DCI works closely with school leaders and teachers to build strong coaching, professional development, curriculum, assessment, and data systems across the TK-8 continuum. This role serves as a network-wide instructional leader and reports to the Chief Academic Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership & Systems Development Develop and implement network-wide instructional systems aligned to SP's academic goals, educational model, and mission. Establish clear expectations, tools, and processes for high-quality standards-aligned instruction across TK-8 classrooms. Monitor instructional quality, curriculum implementation, and teacher development. Identify network-wide instructional trends and recommend targeted supports, professional development, and improvements. Ensure instructional practices are rigorous, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and responsive to diverse student needs. Classroom Observation, Walkthroughs, & Feedback Maintain a consistent presence on campuses, conducting frequent classroom observations and providing teachers with timely, clear, and actionable feedback. Conduct joint walkthroughs with principals and academic leadership to strengthen calibration, instructional leadership, and follow-up practices. Track observation findings and monitor follow-through on identified actions and areas for growth. Principal Support, Coaching, & Capacity Building Serve as a strategic partner and coach to principals on instructional leadership, observation, feedback, and teacher development. Support principals in establishing consistent walkthrough and coaching systems. Provide tools, training, and professional development to strengthen principal and instructional leader capacity. Support principals in connecting observation findings to coaching, PLCs, professional development, and school improvement priorities. Teacher Development & Professional Learning Provide targeted coaching and support to new teachers and teachers requiring additional development. Develop and facilitate network-wide professional development based on observation trends, student data, and organizational priorities. Support peer observation and collaborative learning structures. Model or co-teach lessons when appropriate to support instructional improvement and schoolwide initiatives. Curriculum, Assessment, & Data Lead the implementation, alignment, and continuous improvement of curriculum and instructional resources. Facilitate curricular articulation across grade levels, content areas, and campuses. Support school leaders and teachers in using student data to inform instruction, intervention, and professional learning. Monitor PLC structures and expectations for data analysis, instructional planning, and follow-through. Support oversight of local and state assessment systems, including i-Ready, interim assessments, CAASPP, ELPAC, CAST, and other required assessments. Support differentiated instruction for English Learners, students with disabilities, and other student groups. Other Duties as Assigned Support emergent academic initiatives, special projects, or priority areas requiring cross-functional collaboration or organizational change. Provide leadership and follow-through on instructional concerns, academic interventions, and school improvement efforts.

$110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
